The Alabama Department of Corrections Hotline Connection will supply information regarding employment applications, testing procedures and locations, job qualifications, salary, benefit information.

Please note that all testing dates fall on a Friday. If you need any further information regarding onsite testing for Correctional Officer Trainees, please call the ADOC Personnel Division's Correctional Officer Unit at (334) 353-9500.

Onsite Testing Date and Location
CORRECTIONAL OFFICER TRAINEE JOB

Appointments are not necessary to attend onsite testing. Anyone who doesn't have a state application on file may still take the exam.
Applicants should bring a completed state application with them or obtain and complete the day of onsite testing.

Note: Each applicant is encouraged to ensure that a completed state
application is provided to either a member of State Personnel or ADOC
Personnel staff before leaving the onsite examination.

Applicants should dress appropriately (athletic shoes and knee length pants may be worn) for a physical ability test and bring water and a lunch as the exam will last most of the day.

State law allows those active in the Employee Retirement System (ERS) to purchase service credit for certain types of past employment. Purchasing service credit may increase the amount of your retirement income or allow you to retire sooner. During an active member's first years of participation in the ERS, he or she may purchase up to four years of eligible military service provided the member has had no previous period of eligibility.
